Labor Day Family Reunion Weekend

My mom's side of the family has a fun reunion every Labor Day weekend at my Uncle Brian and Aunt Margaret's Ranch House.  This year was no exception, and we had a great time together.  My brother Steve's fiancee, Sheila, got to join us and meet the extended family for the first time, and everyone loved her.  We missed our cousins Kyle, Brad, Remy, and Tucker this year, but hopefully we'll get to see them soon.  As always, the days were packed with games, laughter, and delicious food.  Here are some of the best moments.

The traditional family whiffle ball game behind the Ranch House
My team lost again. I'm beginning to think I may have something to do with it.  (I'm pretty sure I have a lot to do with it)
The annual Spades Tournament gets highly competitive, since the winners get bragging rights. That's all we really need, although we should probably create a trophy or something.
Cuteness, thy name is Laura. I love the summer dress/sneakers/life jacket combo
Jackson caught some pretty big fish this year!
I'm taking Addi if I ever go fishing so she can touch the gross stuff for me.
Uncle Brian and Aunt Margaret added boats so we could play on the lake
My parents enjoying a nice romantic paddle.

Some of us learned to throw washers and we *may* have all been beaten by a 5-year-old.
Others rode the dirt bike and 4-wheeler around the property
But most of us spent the heat of the day relaxing on the back porch and chatting. When we weren't eating, that is.

Our last night together, my cousin Russell made the mistake of leaving to go to the Baylor Univ. game with friends.  So of course we pranked him because it just never gets old. We raided his clothes before he got home and went back to casually playing Catch Phrase in the living room, waiting to see how long it would take him to notice that we were each wearing an article of his clothing.  Turns out it wasn't very long, since Tricia (2nd from right) pretended to drop something and bent over in front of him wearing his jeans with his red boxer briefs over them. Bahahaha!

He was laughing with us, but man I wish I had captured his face the moment he recognized his underwear staring him in the face. Priceless!

We loved all the family time and we're already looking forward to seeing everyone again at Christmastime!
