New Year

The last Christmas gift came during New Year's weekend. Dan's sister, Robin, and her family, had purchased laser tag and bounce house tickets for the kids, and they all met up in Williamsburg to play.

Getting ready for laser tag!

They stayed all afternoon, eating pizza, playing, and hanging out.

Stonebridge celebrated Homecoming with games, food trucks, and activities. Dan and Emma didn't feel like staying at school longer on a Friday night, but I stuck around so Hallie could have a great time with her friends. And this enthusiastic lion!

We celebrated my birthday at Cheesecake Factory

Later that afternoon, I recruited Dan and my dad to rent a truck and pick up my birthday gift, which was a used refrigerator to replace our garage fridge. The old fridge hasn't been keeping up with the hot summer weather for the past couple of years, so we hope this one will work better.

The 4th grade students had a talent show presentation and Hallie got to speak about the artistic talent that God has given her.

The end of the month brought us a gift! We got a couple of inches of snow late on January 31st!

Hallie couldn't go to sleep until she went out and played for a while - at 10 pm!

The next morning, both girls were ready for fun in the snow!

Snow angels

I got a snowball in the eyeball from Hallie. To be fair, I started it.

There wasn't enough snow for good sledding, but Hallie really wanted to try anyway.

We both got some pretty good runs down our local sledding hill!

By the end of an hour, Hallie was hot enough to take her coat off, and we were both worn out!  I think we had successfully scraped the rest of the snow off the hill.
